Bristol Bay Counseling Center

The Bristol Bay Counseling Center is an integration of behavioral health/mental health and substance use disorders treatment, offering services out of Dillingham based facilities and several village-based offices.

We are a Community Mental Health Center providing outpatient care to Bristol Bay residents aged 5 and up. Our care team works with individuals, couples, and families in a confidential and healing environment, and every person in our Behavioral Health Department is dedicated to providing the best possible care for the region. Each staff member receives ongoing specialized training.

Clinicians and staff are able to help with mental health issues while respecting the individual’s needs, rights, and values. Services also include screenings, assessments, case management, and therapy available in person, on the phone, or through video teleconferencing. Individual, group, and family therapy is provided and is also available for ages 5 and up. BBAHC Behavioral Health clinicians possesses various specialties to accommodate the different needs of individuals.

Clinicians are available to triage and assist with urgent and crisis situations during business hours, including connecting clients to emergency services when necessary.

Crisis Line: 1-888-865-0799 24-hrs a day/7 day a week
Mental Health professionals trained to manage crisis and assist with mental health needs. Staff are able to triage incoming calls and refer to appropriate entities for immediate response when needed. Callers utilizing the crisis line can also request follow-up from a staff member during business hours if they would like further services.

Our care team supports the chronically mentally ill population by providing ongoing services to monitor and treat symptoms, coordinating with families and support systems, and assisting clients with chronic mental illness to improve or maintain daily functioning to live as independently as possible within their home community.

Crisis Debriefing: (907) 842-1230
Staff facilitates group discussion after a traumatic event with individuals under stress from trauma exposure. Although this is most often provided for first responders, it is also available to groups of community members similarly impacted by traumatic events.

Co-Occurring Treatment
Clinicians work with clients experiencing a variety of presenting problems, including substance use disorders. Depending on client needs and preferences, this is sometimes provided within our outpatient services and other times is provided in collaboration with BBAHC Jake’s Place residential substance abuse services. Anyone interested in seeking care for substance abuse issues can call either program to request an assessment and services.

Anyone wanting services can call our front desk to request services. We also accept referrals from other departments of BBAHC or community partners. New clients will need to complete intake paperwork and a comprehensive assessment before engaging in ongoing services.
