The Dental program provides a full spectrum of treatment to Kanakanak and 21 villages. Our focus is on prevention of dental disease. The dental department at Kanakanak Hospital encompasses the entire ground level floor of the H. Sally Smith Building. The building is located across the parking lot from the hospital entrance. The dental clinic has 12 operatories with state of the art equipment, and dental laboratory.

Dental program provides a full spectrum of treatment at Kanakanak Hospital and in twenty-one area villages.

A personal courtesy call reminder will be made prior to your appointment.

Please come 15 minutes prior to your appointment and bring insurance and tribal cards.

• Root Canal Therapy on anterior and premolar teeth– referrals are offered for molar root canal completions.

Priority of treatment for village dental services

Guidelines are as follows:

1. Treatment of patients with acute dental infection or severe pain
2. Examination of preschoolers and treatment of children in the age group with newly erupting permanent teeth.
3. Examination and treatment of all other children.
4. Diagnosis and treatment of adult symptomatic teeth.
5. Comprehensive adult treatment.

Our department offers a full range of insurance claim management. Claims are submitted electronically to all major insurance carriers, including Alaska Medicaid. We offer payment plans options for services not covered by insurance companies. We offer HRSA sliding fee schedules. Forms of payments we accept are: cash, check, money order, and credit card.
