WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU WHEN YOU'RE NOT AT WORK?
At current home in Hawaii, spending as much time as possible moving my body and being outdoors.
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE BRISTOL BAY REGION?
Travel, growth, learning, seizing opportunity, being useful. Bristol Bay ticks all these boxes!
WHAT EXCITES YOU MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK?
Competent, thoughtful provision of emergency medical care. The abundance of opportunity - to help, to empower, to problem solve, to innovate, to do good.
WHAT MAKES YOUR TEAM AT BBAHC SO EXCEPTIONAL?
My team in the Emergency Department is available 24/7/365 easing pain, relieving worries and keeping people safe and well, even in the most dire of circumstances. They risk their lives in service to others each time they hop aboard a medivac. BBAHC's ED staff are dedicated, invested and go above and beyond every day meeting the unusual challenges that come with living and working in rural Alaska.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE PATIENTS TO KNOW?
No one looks forward to a visit to the ED, but if necessary, they can look forward to seeing an expert in emergency care. If it turns out they are not having an emergency, I can help reduce their immediate fears and point them in the right direction.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOU TRULY MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN PATIENTS' LIVES?
Mostly by simply being available when they are vulnerable no matter the hour, no matter the severity, no matter the nature of whatever they are experiencing.
