REAL ID Requirement Goes Into Effect

BBAHC wants to remind our patients that if you use your driver's license for air travel, a REAL ID will be required as of May 7, 2025.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will soon begin enforcing the REAL ID requirement nationwide. All travelers aged 18 and older will be required to present a REAL ID-compliant form of identification at TSA security checkpoints.  TSA will no longer accept non-compliant state-issued IDs for security screening, though other approved forms of identification—such as U.S. passports, military IDs, and select federally recognized documents—will still be accepted.

If you do not currently have a REAL ID, visit this Alaska DMV webpage for more information:  https://dmv.alaska.gov/credential-services/realidupdate/ or scan the QR code below with your phone.
