Fireweed Building Update

Beginning in 2022, BBAHC made the strategic decision to relocate a majority of Finance Department staff to the Fireweed Building (121 W. Fireweed Lane, Anchorage).  This move allowed us to recruit hard to fill positions from a larger labor pool in Anchorage, and also freed up space to make way for clinical functions on the main campus.  As housing in Dillingham has become increasingly scarce, BBAHC expanded positions located at the Fireweed Building to include some Information Technology, Quality, Health Information Management Systems, Grants, and Human Resources positions.  The number of positions located at the Fireweed Building has now reached 30, out of approximately 500 total positions, or about 6% of our workforce.  

The Fireweed Building houses other tenants, such as Trustees for Alaska, U.S. Representative Mary Peltola, and the Alaska Oil and Gas Association, among others.  We have also established a board meeting space in the building that brings the occupancy at Fireweed up to full capacity.  There are no future plans for expansion in Anchorage at this time.  BBAHC is moving forward with recruiting and filling our Dillingham and village-based positions.  We appreciate your referrals to those you may know within region or with ties here, to help us fill our open roles.  Current position openings can be found on our website:  https://bbahc.org/joinourteam.  Thank you for helping to support BBAHC in our mission to provide quality health care with competence, compassion and sensitivity.
