Sanora Bell, Dental Therapist

Sanora graduated from the DHAT (Dental Health Aide Therapist) program and received her AAS in Dental Therapy.  A DHAT is a dental team member who works under the supervision of a licensed dentist providing a limited range of services. Those services include patient and community-based preventive dental services, basic restorations and uncomplicated extractions.  DHAT skills meet the majority of basic dental care needs found in rural Alaska Native communities.

An individual with this certification will immediately be recognized as someone qualified to be a CMO leader in a rural hospital with excellence.

Rebecca Johnson, Infectious Diseases Division Manager

Rebecca received her Certification in Infection Control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.  Certification in infection prevention and control is a standardized measure of the basic knowledge, skills, and abilities expected of infection prevention and control (IPC) professionals.  The main purpose of certification is to protect the public by providing a standardized measure of knowledge required for IPC professionals.  Rebecca is pictured with her daughter, Nikolena Wulvik.

Elena Jacques, Emergency Medical Services Coordinator

Elena earned her NRAEMT (Nationally Registered Advanced Medical Technician) certification. The primary focus of the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of our recent employee accomplishments.  Please take time to thank these employees, and any others you are aware of, for their dedication and commitment to our mission through professional development.
