2024 Health Aide of the Year
On Behalf of the Community Health Aide Program, we would like to formally introduce the BBAHC 2024 Health Aide of the Year:
Monica Brown
Itinerant Community Health Aide Practitioner
Monica Brown is an exemplary health aide and a huge asset not only to the CHAP Department but also to BBAHC.
Monica started her career as a health aide for BBAHC in December 2010. She worked in Chignik Bay for 7 years and then relocated to Pilot Point. Monica then resigned from her position in 2013 and moved to Palmer, AK.
Monica was later rehired as an Itinerant CHA-III for BBAHC in August of ‘22. Since being hired, she continued to work exceedingly hard to obtain her CHP (Community Health Practitioner) which she acquired in September of 2024.
Monica does outstanding work in the clinics and villages she travels to. She has exhibited great work ethics daily and is highly self-motivated. Monica has great communication skills, and is knowledgeable of the expectation of CHAP. She completes monthly clinical tasks on time. She ensures that supplies and medications are gone over, and any expirations are returned.
Monica also makes great preparation for providers. She ensures that outreach is done, and all the necessary medications, vaccines, and supplies are ordered prior to the doctor getting there. Monica has shown strong dedication in providing the greatest heath care for all Bristol Bay village residents. We are extremely happy to have such a strong and dedicated person on our team and representing our corporation.
Congratulations, Monica!
