Alaska Sees 2nd Measles Case in 2025

Alaska has reported two cases of measles so far in 2025:
  • May 2025, Juvenile in Anchorage, unvaccinated
  • January 2025, Adult in Kenai Peninsula, unvaccinated
What to Know:
Measles is highly contagious.
Measles can cause serious health complications, especially in children younger than 5 years of age.

The best protection against measles is measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine, which is 97% effective
