Overview
The Infection Control department manages all regulatory requirements related to infection control and sterile central supply. Our mission additionally is to provide immunizations to prevent transmissible diseases within the population and mitigate disease causing processes within the hospital and region.
This department reports diseases to the State of Alaska Department of Epidemiology and also verifies appropriate treatment of diseases. We also check immunizations status of individuals and immunize accordingly. The immunization team does village travel and conducts outreach activities as necessary for immunizations.
