Jakes Place offers a wholistic approach to recovery through collaboration with community healing events, cultural reclamation activities, historical trauma/generational trauma community education events, or virtual talking circles hosted by the Opioid Overdose Prevention Team. These activities and events are aimed at providing understanding for why people use drugs and alcohol, how we can stop the cycle, and instilling tangible means of healing together. Patients may also access a substance use disorder assessment or participate in substance use disorder treatment. We provide a range of culturally appropriate substance use disorder services with both outpatient and residential care available. Through collaboration with Medical staff, Psychiatry, Behavioral Health, Opioid Prevention, and community members- in addition to the substance use disorder curriculum.
Jakes Place provides:
- Appropriate medical care and medical treatment related to substance use disorders.
- Behavioral health counseling.
- Education on Historical/Generational Trauma to provide context for why American Indian/Alaska Native people struggle disproportionately with Substance Use Disorder, Suicide, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault , Office of Children's Services involvement, and incarceration,
- Opportunities to connect or reconnect with the community and culture through the integration of cultural activities.
- Provides access to a range of religious organizations and activities.
- Provides opportunity for those who have engaged in treatment to stay connected and “give back” through peer work.
- Provides psychiatric care for those with co-occurring disorders.
- Provides a range of services including inpatient, intensive day treatment, intensive outpatient treatment.
- Information on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs study) and impact on health.
