Overview
We provide healthy foods and nutrition education to income eligible pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women and kids up to the age of 5.
Who can apply for WIC?
- Pregnant women
- Moms who just had a baby
- Moms for one year if they are breastfeeding
- Moms for six months if they are not breastfeeding (this includes moms who miscarried or adopted their baby to someone else)
- Parents of kids under 5 years old (this includes dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. if they are the guardian of that child) What are the income guidelines for Alaska WIC? Income guidelines include all the income for the household (including PFD’s, Native Corporations Dividends or other income) and are based on Household size. These income guidelines change each year. See the chart below to see if your family may qualify.

How do I apply for WIC?
- Complete the appropriate application below
- Have the applicants height, weight and hemoglobin taken by a medical provider
- Provide income verification (most recent pay stubs of everyone in household or copy of Denali Kid Care card or Food Stamp acceptance letter)
- Read and sign your “Rights and Responsibilities” (the last page of the application)

Can WIC help me if I'm breastfeeding?
Yes! Congratulations on your choice to breastfeed! It is the best choice for your baby. WIC can provide support by encouraging you and answering questions you may have. We also have electric & hand held breast pumps available.
